Saskia Edens, Switzerland

Born in Geneva and currently based in Basel, Edens is a graduate of the École supérieure des beaux-arts Genève.

As a performer, she has taken part in numerous international festivals in Europe, the USA and Asia. She also creates public artworks such as the Magma project in Basel and recently her Mondlicht project was selected for realisation in Zurich. Her art uses video, painting, molten metal, casting techniques and performance. Through experimental processes, interacting with nature and its elements, Edens explores the essence of life: cycles give rhythm, heat provokes metamorphosis, breath increases energy, intention gives direction.
