Chuyia Chia is born in Malaysia and is based in Sweden.

Her art focuses on global issues such as the environment, food, identity and culture. Her multidisciplinary approach blends performance, craft and various media to convey meaning. Notable exhibitions include Singapore Biennale 2016, The Supermarket of Images 2020 Jeu de Paume Paris and Red Brick Museum Beijing, The Body Politics and the Body 2019, ILHAM Kuala Lumpur and Earth 2021 Havremagasinet Boden. With solo exhibitions at Trollhättan Art Center (2018) and Skövde Art Museum (2020). Her artistic practice resonates with diverse cultural contexts, spanning more than 35 countries.
